    Website Committee

    Coordinators: Heidi Bissell (Chair), Matt Brooks, Erin Kendrick, Jen Parsons, Sarra Gourlie, Mike Maslanka

    What we do: We work to maintain current content on the website. We post pertinent and timely updates to the website (position postings, new articles, conference proceedings, etc.) and make sure the resources available on the website are maintained (membership and advisor rosters, NAG statements and other NAG-drafted content).

    Conference Committee 2025

    Coordinators: Kelly Kappen (Chair), Mike Maslanka, Barbara Henry

    What we do: Plan and organize the next conference in Kansas City, MO. This includes all aspects of the meeting – program, sponsorship / fund-raising, announcements, proceedings, registration, etc.

    Media and Communications Committee

    Coordinators: Sarra Gourlie (Chair), Heather Green, Mike Maslanka

    What we do: We make sure that the NAG/ZWNF has a presence in the “outside world.” We post pertinent and timely information to social media outlets (Facebook, etc). We also drive the effort to ensure that nutrition-related content stays in front of the larger AZA community via quarterly CONNECT postings. These efforts help us ensure we are reaching as many zoo and wildlife professionals as we can.

    AZA Interface Committee

    Coordinators: Mike Maslanka (Co-chair), Adam Reppert (Co-chair), Barbara Henry

    What we do: First, we come up with a better name. Then, we coordinate the response to AZA requests for review of animal care manual (ACM) chapters, ambassador animal guidelines (AAG), Conservation and Science Grants (CSG), etc. This currently includes the revamp of ACM chapters (Adam Reppert, Chair).

    Reference and Resource Documents

    Coordinators: Jennifer Watts (Chair), Katie Sullivan, Kerri Slifka, Barbara Henry

    What we do: Generate, edit, and review protocols and guidelines as they relate to zoo nutrition. Examples include: USDA meat handling guidelines, marine mammal feeding standards, policies regarding feeder animals, and the technical factsheets.

    ZooBytes Committee

    Coordinators: Heidi Bissell (Co-chair), Andrea Fidgett (Co-chair), Mark Edwards, Katie Sullivan, Siga Lapinskas, Ryan Dilger

    What we do: Curate animal feed and recommendations data for public use (new!). Heidi will have to flesh this out.

    Feed Sustainability Committee

    Coordinators: Heidi Bissell (Chair), Liz Koutsos, Amanda Ardente, Jen Parsons, Mike Maslanka

    What we do: Helps nutrition be represented in sustainable fisheries discussions.
